The principle of body building was introduced by Joe Weider and he is considered the father of modern body building. He named principles to represent Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Pre-Exhaustion Training is included in the Advanced principle. It is one kind of pre-fatiguing a larger muscle with isolation and single joint movement. Therefore it can be more exhausted by the compound movements to follow.
