Lying Leg Curls

Exercises that strengthen the large muscle groups of the leg are excellent for developing fitness and strength, increasing sports performance, burning calories, and developing increased lean muscle mass to increase basal metabolic rate. A favorite exercise in this context is the lying leg curl, an exercise of the hamstring, the primary flexor muscle of the upper leg, that also involves the muscles of the buttocks (e.g., gluteus maximus), and the calf (e.g., gastrocnemius and soleus) for a full workout of the back of the leg.

Traditionally, one of the hardest things about working out, especially when you’re first getting started, has been the act of actually getting yourself to the gym on a routine basis.
